OKK cable

Fiber-optic cable OKK for suspension on urban lighting pillars.

Application:

OKK is designed for construction of overhead power lines in points with maximal electrical field potential up to 25 kV; between buildings.

Description:

Loose tube cable. Central strength member is made of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) rod. Polymer tubes and plastic fillers are SZ-stranded around central strength member. Optical fibers are placed inside polymer tubes. Interstice inside and between polymer tubes is filled with hydrophobic filler. Cable core is wrapped by yarns. PET-tape is imposed on the cable core. PE – jacket is extruded over the core. An armour from high modulus aramid layer is formed around single jacketed cable with outer jacket of high density polyethylene extruded over the armour in case of electrical field potential up to 12 kV. In case of electrical field potential 12-25 kV outer jacket is made of track resistant polyethylene.

On customer’s request cable design can have following options:

  1. Production of «dry» construction (water blocking yarns instead of hydrophobic filler).
  2. Change of outer jacket material (HDPE or Track Resistant HDPE).
  3. Change of the standard color of polymer modules and fibers.
  4. Number of fibers up to 288.
